Wellbeing Projects

We believe looking after your emotional health is a key part in working and helps to have a successful day at work.

Nurturing Wellbeing Through Creativity and Growth at Paperworks

At Paperworks, we believe that emotional health is the foundation of personal and professional success. That’s why we’ve woven a dynamic wellbeing programme into every aspect of our training. This programme isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach; it’s inspired by our trainees’ unique interests and goals. Together, we’ve created an environment where growth and self-care go hand in hand.

One of our standout offerings is chair-based yoga, which brings moments of calm and mindfulness into the workday. Trainees also have the chance to engage in a variety of creative activities throughout the year, from expressive art to collaborative performances. To ensure every trainee thrives, we prioritise regular breaks during the workday to recharge and refocus. Our dedicated Wellbeing Room is a sanctuary for group activities, games, or quiet moments of solitude.

One of our most exciting recent ventures is our monthly podcast, “A Cuppa and a Catch-Up at Paperworks.” Each episode celebrates the stories and achievements of our trainees, highlighting their incredible journeys and positive experiences. Featuring special guest speakers, these podcasts bring uplifting conversations and new perspectives while teaching trainees technical and communication skills. It’s a brilliant way to spread positivity within our community and beyond.

Our in-house courses are a cornerstone of wellbeing at Paperworks. Designed to meet individual needs, they foster confidence and resilience in all aspects of life. Beyond building essential work-based skills, we offer life skills courses to help trainees grow in every area. The results are incredible: trainees not only gain new abilities but also leave with a renewed sense of confidence that positively impacts their overall wellbeing.

Creativity knows no bounds at Paperworks, and our projects prove it! From writing and performing original pantomimes to creating immersive “locked-in” puzzle experiences, trainees discover talents they never knew they had. Whether it’s stage design, prop-making, costume creation, or performance, every activity fuels confidence and collaboration. We’ve witnessed trainees go from quiet observers to dynamic performers, shining under the spotlight.

At Paperworks, we’re always exploring new, exciting ways to help our trainees grow, express themselves, and thrive. By combining creativity, community, and wellbeing, we create opportunities for transformation that extend far beyond our walls.
Together, we’re building brighter futures—one project, podcast, and performance at a time.

In addition to these projects, we offer yoga sessions, dance initiatives, and host vibrant events, including shows, open days, and celebrations of awareness days like World Mental Health Day and Learning Disability Week. We’re passionate about giving back to the Leeds community while empowering our trainees to take center stage.
